Painting Parties Photo Dump

My new business, Sprinkle and Splatters, is in full swing, and I could not be happier about it!  The door hangers that attendees are cranking out are SO cute!  They amaze me more and more each time.  Can you tell I am giddy?

Aren't they awesome?!?

P.S. When I announced the date for my next party, it was FULL in two hours.  Then I announced the next date after that... ALMOST FULL as well!  I have also scheduled 2 other private parties.  Craziness!  Business is definitely booming, and it's a little overwhelming!

But you know what they say...

Since I've been gone....

It's been about 25 days since I have blogged, but it feels like so much longer!  I had so much stuff going on with the start of my new business and the end of school.  Plus we have been super busy on the weekend with all kinds of fun stuff.

Now that it is summer, I am more than ready to give some of my attention to this little blog!

Here's what I've been up to lately...

I've lost 10.8 lbs. on the 21 Day Fix.  I'm pretty sure it's one of the best nutrition plans around (I'm also pretty sure I had a little bit of the flu so that helped).  You get a container for all your food groups.  You fill up each one with your favorite foods a certain number of times a day and that's it.  It's all about portion control.  There is also a workout plan that goes along with it, but I like my workouts already so I haven't been doing those as much.

I am on my second round now, but I haven't been totally dedicated to it like  I should be so I haven't lost anymore weight.  There is too many yummy drinks to have during summer!  I am hoping to change that this week though!

I had my first painting parties while I was away!  I have had two so far, with another one tonight!  Here is a sneak peek:

I got poison ivy while I was away too!  For someone who had never had poison ivy in her life until this past fall, I sure am allergic to it now!  I have no idea where it came from but it was all over me.  It's been 4 weeks and I think it's finally completely gone.

We also learned some depressing news at school.  We are getting a new principal.  Our school corporation is moving around 10 principals in order to make certain schools more effective.  Our school is already more than effective, and our principal is amazing, so he is getting pulled to clean up some messes.  The last few days of school were pretty rough for us.  If you work at a school, you know how an administrative change can be very difficult.  Especially if it is sudden and un-wanted.

Since we are the Oakdale Oaks, we/I painted a palette with an Oak tree on it for all the kids and teachers to put their thumbprints on.  We gave it to him on the last day of school.

Then we had a staff golf outing, and it made everything better (almost)!  More on that in another post.

I'm so excited to be back to blogging!

Blogging, coffee, and pools...that's what summers are made of.

Have a great week!

I'm still here.

Oh hey! Remember me?

I'm Elyse.  I used to blog here, but then the end of the school year got crazy busy and my one week blog break turned into a two week blog break.  I have been feeling like sleeping is more important than blogging, so instead of getting up early to blog, I sleep for an extra hour.

I'm ok with that decision.

There are 6 six days of school left (after today).

SIX!

Where did the time go people!?!

I'm not sure what I am more excited about, summer or the last week of school where we get to ORGANIZE ALL THE THINGS.  It's seriously my favorite part of the year.

But I'm also dreaming about a summer of pools, cocktails, and painting.  Words do not explain my excitement.

My body has actually developed a rash from excitement.  A distress signal if you will.

But really it's probably just poison ivy...all over me.  So itchy.

I think that's enough manic thoughts for one post.

Have a great weekend!

I'll be back in full force soon!

I almost killed a family of baby bunnies.

I'm a little late today, but I'm linking up with some lovely ladies for a weekend recap!

Dateless in Dallas

This happened Thursday but it's just too funny not to share!  My first graders were using chalk pastel for the first time, so naturally they had it all over their hands and arms.  This darling sneezed into her hands and got it all over her face.  So funny!

This weekend was pretty uneventful, but the weather was wonderful!  Friday night we sat around the fire-pit and enjoyed the evening!

Saturday we did lots of work around the house.  I was raking some leaves out of our front landscaping when a baby bunny jumped out.  *Cue loud shriek*  Luckily before I started raking again I noticed the pile of leaves was kind of moving, so I raked it gently, instead of with full force like the first time I raked a bunny.  Out jumped three more baby bunnies.  *Cue loud shriek again*  I'm sure my neighbors (who were also working in their front yard) thought I was crazy.

The bunnies made me so sad!  They were so cute and scared, and they didn't know where to go since I had destroyed their home!

Sunday it was sunny and 83, so I met my mom at the pool.  First pool day of the "summer"!

I came home to find one of my bunny friends still sitting on our porch.  Looking lost.  I was dying on the inside from all of the cute-ness.  I just wanted to pick it up!  I chopped up some carrots and spinach and put it near him so he would have something to nibble on, but he did not accept my offering.  I also tried to pet him.  He didn't like that very much either.

Told you my weekend was exciting!

I have a super busy week this week, so you may not be hearing much from me!

How was your weekend?
