100 Followers and Fall Bucket List

WOOHOO!

I made it to 100 followers on this little blog!

Actually 102 followers now!

If you would have asked me when I started blogging if I would ever get to 100 I would have definitely said no, but it has turned out to be an unexpected success!

So to say thank you, I will be having a giveaway very soon.

I have made considerable progress on my fall bucket list in the last week.  Here is what it looks like now:

Elyse's Fall Bucket List 2012
1. Go on a nature walk (take the camera!)
2. Bake apple dumplings.
3. Eat caramel apples.
4. Bake yummy pies.
5. Drink hot chocolate.
6. Go to a football game.
7. Go to a soccer game. (My family is definitely a soccer family)
8. Make chocolate chip pumpkin bread.
9. Paint and decorate pumpkins.
10. Have a bonfire with s'mores.
11. Go to the Fall Festival. (That's a big one here).
12. Have friends over for chili.
13. Drink apple cider. Maybe spiked? Hehe
14. Try a new fall recipe from Pinterest.
15. Make a fall wreath.
16. Wear a fall scarf.
17. Get out and wear fall boots.
18. Count my blessings and give thanks.

9.   Paint and decorate pumpkins

Every year I paint or decorate pumpkins.  This year I decided to decorate fake pumpkins...I don't know why I never thought of doing that before now.  I can use them year after year.  DUH!

(I wish I had a better picture.  I couldn't find my camera cord, so I had to settle for a phone pic.)

Look out for a Crafty Project post about these darlings soon!

I also made these fall inspired letters spelling the word "FALL".

(Ignore the junky refrigerator in the background.  Looking at it now, I realize I need to do something about that!)

11.  Go to the fall festival.

I talked about going in this post.  I ended up going twice.  Once with Kelly, and once with my mom, dad, and sister.  That was plenty!

Here are some of the things I ate (I meant to take a picture of everything I ate, but I forgot!):
and keep in mind that everything was split 2-4 ways!

-Corn Dog
-Fried Cookie Dough
-General Tao's Chicken
-Pork Tenderloin
-Corn Fritters
-Stromboli
-Fried Thin Mints
-Fried Green Tomatoes
-Kraut Balls
-Chicken and Dumplings
-Red Beans and Rice
-Fried Oreos
-Fried Mac N' Cheese
-Fried Green Beans

Fried, fried, fried!  Good thing this thing only lasts one week!

Here I am!  Ready to go with my spoon in my pocket.

 Eating chicken and dumplings!

 Waiting for our corn fritters...

Getting ready to eat stromboli!

I have done a few other things but I forgot to take pictures (bad words!), so I will have to do them again!

That's all for now! Have a great day!

5 for Five

Have you heard?
Jessica @ Fantastically Average and Jenn @ Party of One are hosting a new link up!  This is the first week, and I am so excited to be able to write my goals down and get them accomplished!  I am really bad about saying I am going to do something and getting side-track by other things...so hopefully this will make me stay on track!

FantasticallyAverage

1.  Be in bed by 10:00 three two out of five nights.  I can already tell you that this is going to be really hard for me.  I usually don't get home until 8:00 or 9:00 so that doesn't leave a whole lot of extra time to get other things done.  But when it does happen, it makes me feel so much better when my alarm goes off at 4:30 in the morning!

2.  Get the desk moved.  Remember the desk from this post?  Well it is still sitting in the middle of my living room.  It's so heavy I just can't bring myself to move it to its proper place.  This is the week though!

3.  Workout 6 out of 7 days.  I haven't been doing too bad at this.  I'm doing around 5 days right now, but I want to do 6 like I was at the end of the school year last year.  Especially since the holidays are coming, which usually means weight gain!

4.  Drink 4 bottles of water a day.  Google says with my weight and lifestyle I should drink 2.9 liters of water a day, which is about 100 ounces.  That is 6 bottles of water!  Whoa.  I think I will start with 4 and increase from there!  It's so hard to stay hydrated at school!...Especially with no time for bathroom breaks!

5.  Finish all of my lesson plans through October.  Right now I have my math plans done until Oct. 26th, so I just have one more week to plan.  I would like to get my reading groups finished through October as well!

I am so excited to see if I can actually get these things done!

I'll let you know next Monday!

Sunday Social- Let's Get Literary!

Hope you are having a great weekend!  Let's link up with Neely and Ashley for Sunday Social!  Today we are getting literary and talking all about our favorite books!

1. Favorite childhood book

Love You Forever
by Robert Munsch

My parents used to read this book to me ALL of the time.  I loved it!  It is still one of my favs.

Are You My Mother?
by P.D. Eastham

This book is another fav.  My grandma used to always read this to us when we went to her house. :-)

2 . Favorite Book lately

Well I just finished the 50 Shades series.  I can't say that was my favorite, but I did learn some....new....things.  I was pretty over it by the time it was all said and done.  Enough is enough with all that jazz.

I guess I would have to say The Hunger Games series even though it's been about 2 years since I have read it.  I could not put those books down!  They are the best in the last five years for sure!

3. Book you wish you could live in

Harry Potter.  I am a Harry Potter fanatic, and that would be so magical!  I can't even imagine!

I did kind of get to live it on vacation this year...We went to Universal Studios and I got to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

4. If you could be any character from a book who would it be and why?

Hmmmm....Definitely not Katniss Everdeen.  That would be too scary for this girl.

Definitely Anastasia Steele. That would just be painful.

Maybe Allie Hamilton from the Notebook?  I'm a sucker for love stories and I love ALL of Nicholas Sparks' books!...but then she kind of loses her mind at the end, so again I don't know about that.

Or maybe Hermione Granger.  She's smart and she lives in the wizarding world which goes with what I said before...but again she has to go through and do some things that I just don't think I could handle.  Like erase her parents memory...too sad.

5. Favorite Book turned Movie?

Gotta go with the Harry Potter books/ movies again!  I know the movies and the books are a lot different, but I like them both separately.  It's hard to compare them.

6. Favorite Magazines

Food Network Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Rachel Ray, Oprah.

Yes I am an eighty year old lady.

If it helps, I don't really even read magazines anymore...That's what E! News, and Pinterest are for for right?!

WILW and OHP!

Happy Wednesday!  The day that we share what we are loving with Jamie @ This Kind of Love and What I'm Loving Wednesday and Michelle @ The Vintage Apple and Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday!

I am loving the colder weather.  And I am loving that I get to turn on my electric blanket!  It's so cozy. :-)

I am loving that since it has been colder outside (and I have no other food to eat for breakfast) I have been eating Cream of Wheat for breakfast.  Love that stuff!

I am loving that I stayed up until midnight last night, so that I could get ahead on my lesson plans!  I have my math lesson plans done until OCTOBER 26TH.  Whoop! Whoop!  Now I can hopefully accomplish some other tasks while at school besides planning, planning, planning.

I am loving Pinterest!

Insta-Tuesday

I guess it's time to get back to work today...I have been off work since Friday!  And it just so happens that I planned my personal days perfectly.  Fall break starts next Friday, so I will have 4 day weeks until the end of October!  Happy Day!

We were insta-graming it up on our mini-road trip this past weekend!  So I guess I'll link up with Jane  @ Taingamala for Insta-Tuesday!

1.  Kelly and I having a toast to the big Notre Dame win on Saturday.

2.  My very bestest friend Emily and I at dinner on Saturday night.

3.  Tourist pic of Monument Circle in downtown Indy.

4. Crafting at Emily's while Kelly was at the Colts game on Sunday.

5-8. I asked Kelly to take a picture of me by the fountain (which you can't really see in any of these), and I got all of these gems...including one of me wiping my drippy nose.  Thanks Kelly!

9. Andrew, Whitney, and I at Zest Exciting Food Creations in Indy... you may have seen it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives....or at least on the commercial for the show on Food Network.  It's the one where Guy Fieri is like "Onioooooon Jaaaaaaaaam".  You probably have no idea what I am talking about.... anyways.

10.  They had the BEST Bloody Marys.  My new goal in life is to figure out how to make a Bloody Mary that good.

11.  Whitney got a meatloaf sandwich.  It was SO good, and that's not even my kind of thing.

12.  My brother and I both got the shredded beef sandwich topped with onion jam and blue cheese mousse.  This was the sandwich featured on the show, so I felt like I had to get it.  OMG it was so good!  And that's not my thing either.  I like chicken and vegetables.  Not usually beef.  I got it with the chicken chipotle soup on the side.  Also SO good.

I want to go back to that place every day!

The only thing missing from this post are the video of me riding a mechanical bull for the first time and pictures of the time I spent hanging out at my sister's apartment on Sunday (We didn't actually take any pictures of that but it was fun!).
