Birthday Fun!

Last Thursday was my 25th birthday!  People were asking me if I was starting to feel old, or if I was having trouble with turning 25.  "Heck no!" I said.  Even Kelly has been harassing me (he is also 25).  The truth is I had a great 25th year of life!  I got a job, we have a house, I have great friends and an even greater family (now if I could only have that ring on my finger)!   No problems here!

We spent the weekend (and then some) celebrating!

Wednesday night my Salon bosses took me out for margaritas (Thanks Jenny, Julie, and Laurie!) at a local Mexican restaurant.  We were feeling good!  They told them it was my birthday, so I had to put on this gem.

But I got fried ice cream with it!  Laurie spent the remainder of her evening editing this photo. Ha!

Thursday the festivities continued at school.  I have to say that being a teacher is probably the best job to have on your birthday!  The kids are so funny!

Notice the mis-spelling of the last name.  Oops!

When I got to the Salon that night there was a cake waiting for me!

That night we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for our traditional Thursday dinner.  I made the mistake of telling the our waitress (we have the same one every week) that it was my birthday.  I didn't realize they did birthdays at that place!

They made me where this crown, and they announced my birthday to the whole restaurant.  That wasn't embarrassing at all...BUT I got a free sauce, so it was worth it I suppose.

Friday we were out of school, so I went to lunch with my mom and dad at a local sushi restaurant, and I got my hair done.

Ombre and bangs! #carselfie

Then Kelly and I went to Bar Louie for dinner.  YUM!

Saturday Kelly's mom came down and treated us to lunch and a little shopping!

I picked out this wall art from Pier 1 for my birthday present!

It matches some wall décor that I got from Hobby Lobby.

After lunch and shopping, we went to parents for my birthday dinner (no wonder I weigh more this week!).  My grandma and great aunt came and we grilled out and drank wine.  My mom made a delicious strawberry coconut cake a la Pinterest (the cake itself, not the icing decorations ha)!

Birthdays definitely get better as you get older!

Yesterday was back to real life, raking leaves and eating leftovers!

5 for Five

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I spent my weekend doing lots of "birthday" things, and I think I weigh about 10 lbs. more than before my birthday.  I'm afraid to check.   Let's see how I did on my goals with Jessica @ Fantastically Average and Jenn @ Party of One!

FantasticallyAverage

I am happy to report that 20 bags of yard debris and a two tight backs later, we finally got all of the leaves out of the yard, and Kelly was able to mow the grass!  It looks so much better, and it is actually starting to look like someone lives here.

Here are my goals from last week:

1.  Go to the store.  I had to go at 9:00 at night, but I finally went!  It's so nice to have some healthier choices to eat!

2.  Hang décor and/or craft/redo décor.  I found some cute stuff for the kitchen at Hobby Lobby, which I got hung up last night.  (Please ignore the picture-less frames.)

I am STILL spray painting the patio furniture.  I ran out of spray paint again!  I have used 4 cans so far!

3.  Do taxes.  It took three hours and a phone call to Turbo Tax.  It kept defaulting me to the Premier Edition of Turbo Tax, when I wanted to use the free!  It was going to charge me $114 to do my taxes!  Uhhh I don't think so.  Not when it can be free!  So I had to call, and the guy said if I pay for it, and he can call me back and set up a refund.  Thank you!  Oh and p.s. I am getting $1,869 back!

4.  No sweets until Thursday.  I think I made it through one day.

5.  Prepare for art show next week.  I am no where near ready for the art show on Tuesday, but I did get some work mounted last week!

4 out 5 is pretty good!

Here are my goals for this week:

1.  Keep track of my calories every day.  I used to be really good at this.  Not so much anymore.

2.  Finish this shelf and get it hung up!

I have the base coat finished, I just have to get the stripes put on!

3.  Blog five times.  I have been slacking lately.   Partly due to of a lack of inspiration, partly due to  being busy, and partly due to laziness.

4.  Start painting my craft room.  I have the paint, I just have to get started.  Even if its just taping the room.  Baby steps is what this is all about right?

5.  Clean our old apartment and turn in keys.  I want to be completely done with that thing by the end of the week.

Here we go!  Have a great week!

WILW and OHP...kind of

It's Wednesday!  That means  there is only one more day of school left this week (after today)!  It also means that I am linking up with Jamie @ This Kind of Love and What I'm Loving Wednesday and Michelle @ The Vintage Apple and Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday!

I am loving the warm weather!  I was actually HOT yesterday.  And I ate lunch OUTSIDE.

I am loving that my birthday is tomorrow!  Yay for presents and eating things that I don't normally eat because it's my birthday!

I am loving that our house is coming together!  I am almost ready to take pictures...almost.

I am loving that I finally got to go to the grocery store!  No more eating junk!

Aaaaaand I don't have any pins today because Pinterest is being a big B, and they changed the way they embed pins.  I previously posted a call for help because I didn't know how to do it.  That is now delted because Michelle did a how to post today.  Thank you Michelle!!!

Now I just have to take the time to figure it out!

Happy Wednesday!

5 for Five

What a beautiful weekend!  I actually wore a tank top when I was working out in the yard! Let's see how I did on my goals with Jessica @ Fantastically Average and Jenn @ Party of One!
FantasticallyAverage

I should have made raking leaves one of my goals because I feel like that is ALL I did all weekend.  Since this house was vacant for so long, the leaves were out of control.  I swear all of the neighbors dumped their leaves into our yard.  They were up to my hips at one point!

1.  Stick to eating less sweets.  Ehhhhh I can't really say that I stuck to this, but I started out strong at the beginning of the week.

2.  Spray paint the patio furniture black.  I did as much as I could.  I bought two cans of spray paint, but I still ran out!

3.  Be in bed by 10:00 4 out of 5 nights.  Check!  I may not have been asleep, but  I was at least in bed!

4.  Get some stuff hung on these empty walls.  I didn't actually get stuff hung up, but I made some progress in getting some décor painted.  Counting it!

5.  Plan meals for next week.  Still haven't gone to the store!!!!  Although I did make a list!

4.5 out of 5!  Not too shabby!

Here are my goals for next week:

1.  Go to the store.  We have got to get some food in this place!

2.  Hang décor and/or craft/redo décor.  As long as I am working on it!

3.  Do taxes.  Nothing like waiting until the last minute!

4.  No sweets until Thursday.  Thursday is my birthday, so of course there will be cake!

5.  Prepare for art show next week.  The school art show is sneaking up on me, and I have got to start mounting some work!

Wish me luck!

Vacay Pictures Part 2

To see Part 1 go here.

Spotted this flock of birds hanging out on one of our morning walks.  They did not so much like it that I was getting so close to them.  I did not so much like it that there were no railings on this little pier.

Look who's back!  Just in time for basketball and wings at Buffalo Jack's.

Before picture of all of our wings.

After picture.  They were delicious!

Breakfast at The Donut Hole!  I had a pimento cheese omelet.  It was so yummy!  I decided I will have to make them on my own sometime!

And a key-lime filled donut to go!  Also yummy!

On the last night we went to Miller's Ale House for more basketball... and drinks.

We had so much fun and were so sad to leave!  And my tan is already faded.  Boo to that!

Vacay Pictures Part 1

Ever have a really good day?  Like so good that when we go to bed and you just sigh because you were so happy all day long for no particular reason?  That's the day I had yesterday...feels so good to have a day like that every once in a while.

Now if that could happen two days in a row that would be great. :-)

Last week I was on spring break, and we took a MUCH needed vacation to Destin, FL.  It was so nice to just get out of town (by the way it was snowing here the whole time we were gone...SUCESS!).

It was SO cold for laying out.  (45 degrees to be exact).  My mom and I just had to think about how warm we wanted to be ( I think we were crazy).  Covering up my feet with a towel helped!

Walking on the beach with my always smiling boy. ;-)

This was a medium size margarita.  The large ones were as big as my head!

Walking on the bay.

 The water was so blue!

My parents at McGuire's Irish Pub.  LOVE that place!  It has such a great atmosphere and great food (and home-brewed beer)!  The Reuben rolls were fantastic!  I wish I would have taken a picture!  This is also one of the only places I will ever eat a hamburger...they are so yummy!

Remember the margarita picture?  Well Kelly got food poisoning from that restaurant, so he was out of commission for about 2 days.  :-/  He stayed home while we went to McGuire's.

This night was also my brother's birthday.  And since he couldn't join us, we took the liberty of celebrating without him again...just like last year.

Check back tomorrow for Vacay Pictures Part 2!

Currently- April

It has been a seriously long time since I linked up with Farley!

Honestly I never knew how to edit pictures on Windows 8.  I finally got. P.S. it wasn't even hard.  Here's my Currently for April!

Listening:  To the news of course!  I watch the news every morning.  Helps me stay informed since I don't read the newspaper!

Loving:  Our new couch!  We were plannig on buying a new one, but we found one through someone my sister knew.  It was in good condition and only $350!  We finally have a place to sit and watch tv!

Thinking:  Who the heck thought of Apple Cinnamon flavored greek yogurt???  I bought it at the store because there is always a ton of that flavor, so I figured it must be high demand...I learned that there is probably a lot of it because no one likes it.  Apple Dumplings are supposed to taste like Fall, not yogurt.

Needing:  COFFEE!  I have been out since we got back from vacation.  Seriously I can't make it through the day without that stuff.

Advice:  Always think positive!  Life is so much better when you look on the brighter side of things.  Plus no one wants to be around someone who is complaining all the time!

P.S.  Did you see this!?!?

Words cannot explain how excited I am about this!

JT Obsessed Fool

Happy Tuesday!  I hope everyone made it through April Fool's Day okay.  There's is nothing like spending April Fool's Day with children.  I got told that my shoes were untied about 50 times, not to mention all the spiders that were apparently my head.

I did get fooled twice.  I put my hair up in a ponytail during one of my classes and one of my girls told me I was missing an earring.  I let out a gasp and immediately felt my ears.  She must not know that losing a diamond is no joke. ;-)

The second time was my own stupid fault.  I was googling something last night, and I noticed that at the bottom it said try Google Nose.  I thought that sounded interesting so I clicked on it.  It said to hold your nose up to the screen and click enter.  Now I obviously knew that no smell was going to come out of my computer.  I'm not that blonde!  But I thought something would pop out at me or something.  So I kept trying and trying, then proceeded to read the help menu because I didn't think I was doing it right.  At the bottom of the help screen it said "It's April Fool's Day".  :-/

Oh and P.S. Kelly sat right next to me on the couch and watched me do all this knowing it was a joke, loving every minute of it.

April Fool's Day is not my friend.

Anyways....here is the real reason for my post.

Do you own this?

If you don't you need to quick go to iTunes and purchase it because I am in LOVE with it!

It has been out for 2 weeks and I can't get enough!

Especially this song:

Which is now on the radio.  Don't you hate it when that happens?  It's like you have a secret, but now the whole world knows about it.

I also am obsessed with this one.  Makes me wanna Zumba around the room!

Linking up with Leslyn today for Tuesday's Tunes!

5 for Five

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend with their friends and families!  And lots of chocolate and jelly beans!  It's is once again time to link up with Jessica @ Fantastically Average and Jenn @ Party of One!
FantasticallyAverage

I didn't make any goals for myself last week since I was on vacation, but now that it is back to real life, it's back to trying to get some things accomplished.  Whomp whomp.

1.  Stick to eating less sweets.  I gave up sweets for lent, and it really made me realize how much I actually eat sweets.  But I still have all of that yummy Easter candy, so I will let myself have one piece a day.

2.  Spray paint the patio furniture black.  It is currently an ugly faded green color (I think it's actually supposed to be that color, but that doesn't change how I feel about it).  It's got to go!

3.  Be in bed by 10:00 4 out of 5 nights.  This one is always so hard for me, but I already know I am going to be so tired this week!

4.  Get some stuff hung on these empty walls.  All the decor is patiently waiting for me in the corner.

5.  Plan meals for next week.  I haven't gotten myself together enough to make a good trip to the grocery store since we moved.  I need stuff to make meals!

Check back next week to see how I did!
