Mod Podge Tables- Crafty Projects Volume 3

So I saw these old tables at a flea market for $7.00 a piece.  I passed on them the first time around because they are kind of wobbly and seemed poorly made, but then I decided what the heck, and I went back to buy them the next day because I saw this on Pinterest:

Mod Podge Table

Lucky for me, when I went back to get them, they were marked down to $5.00!

I already had some green spray paint so I got to work!

I just sprayed the legs and the edge of the top because you can't see the bottom and the top will be covered with fabric.

Once the paint was dry I turned the table upside down over the top of my fabric and traced the top.

Then I cut out what I had traced.

I ironed it to get the wrinkles out.

I painted the mod podge on the table surface first, then I laid the fabric over the top.  I did one half at a time to prevent any wrinkling.

After the mod podge was coated underneath, I trimmed the edges to make sure everything was even and lined up nicely.

Then I put a layer of mod podge over the top of the fabric.  2 or 3 coats should do.  I just did two because my tables have glass over the top so it didn't matter if the fabric was shiny or not.

Let it dry over night.  Hmmm I may not have done this.

Lay the glass back over the top.

Ta da!  I'm in love.

I put one next to the ugly brown chair that I hate.

And the other next to the ugly couch with the ugly cover over the top that I also hate but not quite as much as the ugly brown chair.

Happy Friday!
