5 things I'm still sad about

5 things I am still sad about even though they happened a long time ago (I could probably come up with more but I'm on a time crunch, and plus they might start getting too serious.  And who wants to be serious?  It's Friday that's not allowed):

The end of Friends.

Couldn't we have gone to the countryside with Monica and Chandler?  Couldn't everyone move to the countryside with Monica and Chandler, and the show could have continued?

It NEVER gets old.

The end of Waffle Crisp.

My mom would never buy this for us because it was too sugary.  Hence the reason why I always stayed the night at my best friend Kara's house.  They always had Waffle Crisp.  That sh** was delicious.

The end of our favorite bar.

The Fox and Hound was wear Kelly and I first became friends.  We met at Buffalo Wild Wings.  We became friends because of The Fox and Hound.

Please excuse this picture.  It's awful, but it's the only one I could find.

The end of Boy Meets World.

Maybe not the end of the show because I never truly got into the show until after it was over...but definitely the end of the reruns of the show on some channel every moment of every day.  It used to be that at any given moment, on any given day you could watch Boy Meets World.  Those were the golden days.

The end of childhood naps.

I could put the e-card here about taking back all the times we didn't want to take a nap when we were a kid, but everyone has seen that old thing.  Instead, I will just say that I wish we lived in Spain where everyone takes a two+ hour lunch break, so they can go home, eat lunch with their families, and take a nap.  Then they work a little later.  I always knew I born in the wrong country.

I think we can be friends

Meet Holly.  She's my blog big.  She likes alfredo, fall, and hates football.  I think we can be friends.

We are doing a question and answer post today!  To see my answers, check out her blog, Back Home Again.

Are you originally from Evansville or are you a transplant?

I'm a transplant. Originally from Northeast Indiana and came down here for college. After grad school I moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia and then moved back to Evansville when my husband got a job down here.

What is your favorite food?

I love anything with chocolate, but my favorite dish would probably be whole wheat pasta with alfredo sauce, chicken, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and olives.

What is your favorite Holiday?

Halloween! It's the epitome of fall.

Do you have any hobbies?

I play clarinet in a community orchestra, photography, cooking.

What is your favorite season?

Fall! There is nothing better than a crisp fall day with not a cloud in the sky, changing leaves and picking pumpkins.

Do you have any pets?

Two cats, Powder and Domino. Sadly, they don't get near the attention they used to before we had kids.

Do you have a best friend?

My husband. I several close girl friends, but I don't consider any of them my "bestie."

Do you like sports?

I love tennis, but I'm not really into most sports. My friend and I have been threatening to start an anti-football club for years!

Coffee, yay or nay?

Heck yeah! I would have Starbucks every day if my wallet and waistline could afford it.

Who are some of your favorite bloggers and why?

Dara at Not in Jersey - I first met Dara through one of the Cara Box exchanges and we are so alike it's scary! Bekah at re-solve - She's one of my crunchy kindred and I love swapping natural remedies with her. Krystal at My Life of Travels and Adventures - She used to live about 20 minutes from me outside of Philly and it was nice to hear about what was going on out east. Plus, her family does a lot of the same things we do.

Thanks Holly!

Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike guess what day it is Mike!

That's right!  It's Hump Day.  We are half way through the week!  I'm linking up with Michelle for Oh How Pinteresting! and Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday!

P.S. I guess Oh How Pinteresting is going to be a monthly link-up now, but I did not realize that until after I already wrote this, so I'm doing it anyways!...Rebel.

Here's what I'm loving on this hot, hot, muggy, humid Wednesday!

I am loving that we are going on a canoe and camping trip this weekend!  It's been so long since I have really been camping so I pumped!...And only a little nervous about roughing it.

I am loving my coffee!  It's always necessary, but today it is tasting so delicious!

I am loving my yoga!  Right now I am feeling that lovely muscle tiredness that feels so good when you stretch.  Do you know that feeling?  It lets me know that I had a good workout.  Don't worry, it will turn into full on muscle soreness and pain later day.  That, I am not so much a fan of.

I am loving my pins!  You can find them here.  Ain't nobody got time for all that embedding stuff.

Ummm...^^^^^This chair.

I wonder how many pictures of this girl I actually have pinned.  My guess is at least 5.

No regrets.  Eat everything always.  (If only this was true)

Summer is NOT over yet

It has been a while since I have updated my summer bucket list.  Despite what people are thinking, summer is NOT over yet!  The first day of fall is not until September 22nd...we still have a little less than a month of summer left!  In fact, the weather is not even very fall-like.  "Sweltering" was the word the weather man just used to describe today.

1.  Have a cookout at our house.
2.  Go to a baseball game.
3.  Drink outside.
4.  Lay out.
5.  Plant a garden.
6.  Cook with veggies from said garden.
7.  Take a boat trip.
8.  Make margaritas from scratch.
9.  Watch fireworks.
10.  Go to a summer social.
11.  Go to an outdoor concert.
12.  Go to a bierstube.
13.  Eat a sno-cone.
14.  Take a walk by the river.
15.  Go to the zoo.
16.  Eat at a food truck.
20.  Go to the farmer's market.

********************************************************************

3.  Drink outside.

Let me count thy ways...

I should have also included "Get eaten alive by mosquitos" on this one because that definitely happened.

4.  Lay out.

I don't have a picture of this, but my wrinkles tell me it happened a lot!  Just kidding...about the wrinkles part.

5.  Plant a garden.
6.  Cook with veggies from said garden.

I am so proud to say that I have been growing some great stuff!

I have so many tomatoes growing right now!  I made salsa and tomato pie (Have you ever had that?  I should post the recipe).  So good!  But I forgot to take pictures until after it was already half eaten.  Not so appetizing then.

8.  Make margaritas from scratch.

My new favorite recipe!

9.  Watch fireworks.

Here we are waiting for firework to start!

That's enough for today...Check back later for more!

5 for Five is back!

Hi hi!  It's Monday, and I'm trying to get motivated...So you know what that means.  Yes!  Five for 5 is back!  It was nice to have a lazy summer, but now its time to get some things done around here with Jenn @ Party of One

1.  Fold my laundry.
This will forever be one of my goals for the week because it never gets done.

2.  Take pictures of my classroom.
I haven't quite felt like my room is "picture" ready yet, but it's time to just take them and get it over with before things start to fall apart!

3.  No diet coke.
At the end of the school year last year, I was down to only drinking diet coke if I went out to eat.  Over the summer I went out to eat a lot....so I drank more diet coke.  Now school is back in session, and I find myself sneaking them in here and there because I need a caffeine boost.  No more of that!

4.  Drink at least 6 bottles of water a day.
School has started and my water intake has gone down once again.  Drink more water...Bladder is full more often.  No time for that.  My body needs to re-adjust.

5.  Get to school early  (30 minutes or more) 4 out of 5 days.
If I get there early, then I don't have to stay as late!

I've got some work to do!
Happy Monday!

Can I take that back?

I am not very witty.  I can be, but I have to have time to think about.  Like a pre-planned conversation.  I cannot think quickly on my feet.  Sometimes I wish I could just blurt out sarcastic remarks on the fly.

I especially wished this on Wednesday night.  I had just finished my 3 hour yoga/kickboxing/core workout, and I needed to go to Barnes and Noble to get a magazine for Kelly.  I looked like I have been crying because I sweat so much that all my mascara was running down my face. My eye shadow had moved to underneath my eyes.  Maybe I just looked like a raccoon.  Oh did I mention the shirt I was wearing look strikingly similar to a wife beater?

So I'm driving down the road, and I got stopped by a stoplight.  From my peripheral vision I can tell the guys in the car next to me are staring at me.  I really tried not to look.  But then I kind of just had  to.  They were waving their hands and acting like idiots.  Then the driver got out his phone and was pointing at it and waving it in the air. In all the awkwardness, I looked away and ignored them.

The light turned green,  and I drove off.  I didn't know where they went, but I didn't really care.  Then I pull in the Barnes and Noble parking lot and get out of the car with all my trashy, raccoon-ness.  Guess who was also going to Barnes and Noble?!

"I promise I'm not stalking you he said!" he yelled across the parking lot, with his friend laughing in the background.... And what was my comeback to that?  "Haha.  It's fine!"  And I proceeded to crouching-tiger-hidden-dragon-my way back to the magazine section, hoping not to have another awkward encounter.

Of course after the fact I am thinking of all kinds of witty things to say.  Like "Oh you're not stalking me?  Because it kind of seems like you are!" or "Oh really?  Two classy guys such as yourself came to buy books with big words?"

You know what I did think right away?  "This is good blogging material."

Happy Hump Day!

It's already Wednesday!  I have to say...Wednesday is my favorite day of the week.  Well besides Friday, Saturday, and Sunday...and sometimes Thursday.  I'm linking up with Michelle for Oh How Pinteresting! and Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Here's what I am loving today:

I am loving that I finally got to go to the grocery store last night...Even if it was at 10:00.  Our refridgerator was almost completely empty.  Nothing but salad dressings and other condiments.  Now it is fully stocked with lots of healthy goodness!

I am loving the show Drunk History!  I think I said this last week, but we watch it on Tuesday nights so its always fresh in my memory.  If you haven't watched it, you need to.  It's so funny!

I am loving my job!  I started teaching actual lessons this week (unlike last week where we talked about rules and procedures all week).  I get so excited to go to school every morning!

I am loving that we don't have anything going on this weekend!  We have been so busy lately, and I have so much stuff to do around the house.  Or I might just lay on the couch.  Who knows!

I am loving my pins!  You can find there here.

Stuffed zucchini boats...My mom made these last week.  They are so good!

Exuma pants...I will be having some of these!

Yummy for fall...even though I am still not done with summer.

Quinoa Chicken Soup

Can I have one now?

People do not understand this concept.  I cried last week for no reason other than I was just so tired!

Remember how I just said I cried last week for no reason?

Have a fab Wednesday!

A Tuesday Hodge Podge

I don't really have anything to big to blog about today, but I do have a few little things.

First of all I am covered in mosquito bites.  I helped out one of my salon bosses with her daughters engagement pictures...I was the professional chalk writer.  I got eaten alive at their barn.  I have 11 mosquito bites on one leg, 5 on the other, 2 or 3 on each arm, and 2 on my face!  WTF mosquitos!  And yes I did put on bug spray, but I think it was already too late.

Mosquitos
^^^^P.S.  I am not actually sure if that is a legit way to spell donuts. ^^^^
I think its donuts or doughnuts but not dounuts.  Yep it has a red squiggle under....not legit.

Since I am just now able to breathe...the start of school was exhausting me...I am just getting around to talking about my blog big.  I recently joined the Blogging Bigs and Littles Network hosted by the Southern Beauty Guide.  I was partnered up with Holly from Back Home Again!  She going to help turn into a big girl blog.  Funny thing though...she actually lives in my town!  Or I live in hers...I guess I can't call it my town....We live in the same town!  I see a bloggy date in our future!

Speaking of blogging, I got soooooo behind on my blog reading, and I can't seem to catch up.  My Bloglovin' feed has been at a steady 200-300 for about 2 weeks.  It's stressing me out.  I want to read everything.  I don't like being left out...I like to know what is going on with everyone!  So can you guys could just stop posting for a day or two?  Great!  Thanks!

 Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Recap- Tall girl problems

Oh Monday.  Once again you have arrived like an unwelcomed slap in the face.  We are coming of a fantastic and spontaneous weekend.  Yes I said spontaneous.  Do you know me?  I am about as spontaneous goldfish.  It's the teacher in me...I always have to have a plan.

So we decided on Thursday night to go to Indy Saturday night.  Kelly friend was in town from the army so they decided they wanted to celebrate by driving up to Indy and renting a limo for the night.

1.  The girls at La Margarita in Fountain Square.  This is where I had the hottest burrito ever.  I like spicy food and feel like I can handle it pretty well, but this thing was so hot!  Kelly ordered it, but couldn't eat it so I traded him.  Holy habanero!

2.  Our ride for the night.

3.  The boys.

4.  My delicious margarita.  It was real.  None of that mix stuff!

5.   My two best friends.  No I'm not wearing heels.  Yes they are standing.  We look ridiculous together.

6.  The best omelet from CafĂ© Patachou in Broad Ripple.  Balsamic onion, spinach, mushrooms, and goat cheese.  So good!  And cinnamon toast which was also so good!  If you can notice in the background, I had to have a morning bloody mary to prolong the hangover.  That was also delicious.

 7.  Sign in the bathroom.

8.  Photo bomb.

9.  Riding around in the limo.

10.  The best sibs and plus ones ever.  I'm so glad they met us out!

Now I am off to school to attempt to get everything done that I was supposed to do yesterday but decided not to go in!  Here's to hoping!

Oh How Pinteresting! and What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I took a little break from this link up over the summer, but back to school means back to OHP! with Michelle and WILW with Jamie!

Today I am loving school!  It's always so depressing that summer is "over", and it's time to go back.  But once it starts and I get in my groove I can't get enough of school!  It's funny how summer makes me forget how much I love my job!

P.S. I am loving that summer is actually NOT over despite what people keep saying.  Let's not push the seasons people.  Summer doesn't end until September 22!  Enjoy it!

I am loving the show "Drunk History".  Have you seen it?  It's exactly what it sounds like.  People getting drunk, talking about history.  It's hilarious!

I am loving that they are doing some replays of shark week this week.  I missed most of it last week because I was getting my classroom ready.  Was it just me or were there not as many shows this year?

I am loving that back to school means back to my regular eating schedule.  My body is happy about it too!

I am loving my pins!  You can find them all here!

Cheddar Poblano Soup

So cute for school!

I want this for my kitchen!

She would say that.

Happy Wednesday friends!  It's so good to be back!
