Dr. Seuss Week Day 1

It's my most favorite celebration of the year (besides Christmas)!  This year at Loge, the kindergarten classes have decided to have a theme for each day.  Today's theme was Oh, The Places You'll Go!  Everyone was supposed to dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character, and I chose to dress up as Sally from Cat in the Hat.

Me as Sally from Cat in the Hat

A couple weekends ago I went up to Indianapolis to visit by brother and sister at IUPUI, and we went shopping.  I found this cute little navy blue and red polka dress (a perfect "teacher" dress).  Whenever I was trying to decide what to be for dress up day, I remembered that I bought that dress and thought it would make a perfect "Sally" dress!  I added a headband that I had wrapped in red ribbon, flipped my hair out with a curling iron, and Voila! a perfect "Sally"!

We had a really great turn out for our dress up day!  We had appearances from Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, Thing 2, Thidwick the Kindhearted Moose, and Mr. Brown (from Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?)

Part of the class on dress up day (I had to block out the faces to protect the innocent!)

I also thought I would share the bulletin board Cori and I did for the month of March.  We have an unspoken competition with the class across the hall, and this month I think we definitely gave them a run for their money!

The whole shebang!

Found this gem on Pintrest and decided we HAD to do them!
We added their faces to ours (which I of course blocked out!).

One fish, Two fish craft.
I manipulated their hands in different ways to create different kinds of fish.  Then we added googly eyes and bubble stickers.  Also a Pintrest find! Gotta love Pintrest!

Stay tuned for more Dr. Seuss stuff later in the week!
