Current Not-Obsessions

I could write a post about my current obsessions, but what would be the fun in that?  So here is a list of things that I am not currently a fan of.
-Shorts, pants, or anything with a crotch.  I do not like feeling restricted down there during the summer.  Dresses and skirts are the way to go.  Easy breezy!
-Long hair.  My hair is currently the longest it has been since I was in high school.  I don't want to cut it, but it makes me hot and it's poufy.  Insert ponytails and top knots.
-The scale.  It has not been my friend lately.  I feel like all I do is workout, and that thing won't budge, unless it budges the wrong way.  I just want to eat some ice cream.
-Food Network.  Come on guys.  Dropping Paula Deen?  Not cool.  She's the whole reason I got hooked on cooking shows in the first place.  Give the lady some credit.
-Bananas.  I always think I like them until I actually eat them.  Too mushy.
-Makeup.  I am not one to leave the house without makeup, but lately it has been so nice to have a clean, make-up free face.
What are some things that are not your favorites lately?

A Little This, A Little That

Hello bloggy friends!  I have recently acquired some new followers, so I thought I would take a day and tell you guys about me!
I am 25.
I recently got my first full-time job as an art teacher.  I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2010, worked as an aide for 1.5 years when the art teacher at a different school in my county retired mid-year.  I got hired as a long term sub for that position so I switched schools mid-year.  Then in May I got hired on permanently!  Seriously, words cannot explain what a relief it is to have a real job.  They are VERY hard to come by for teachers around here.  So thankful!
{That's me with my classroom neighbor music teacher}
I live with my boyfriend (man-friend?  I hate the word boyfriend.  It makes me feel 12).  We recently moved into a house that was purchased by his father.  When his dad retires he is going to move down here, but for now we are occupying the house and fixing it up.  I have not shared pictures of said house yet because it is still not where I want it to be.  Someday....
{Here we are.  Just babies}

{Needless to say, K does not really like having his picture least not by me.}
I am 6' tall.

I don't really "watch" TV.  Yes the TV is on.  Yes I can hear it.  Am I paying attention?  Most likely not.  I don't have any shows that I watch regularly.  I just watch random things here and there.
I wish I could be a Foodie.  I have a loooove for food.   But not just any food, like gourmet, crazy flavors, delicious, "Foodie" food.  I think this came from watching too much Food Network in my younger days.  It's a good thing I also love working out.
I am a part of a family of 5.  Mom, dad, brother sister.  Oh and dog.  That's 6.  We are so close, and I am thankful every day that God has blessed me with such a wonderful family.

I work part-time as a receptionist at a hair salon.  I have worked there since I was 17!  They are also my family!

{part of the salon fam}
I love summer! And the sun, and pool, and cocktails, and gardening, and grilling!  Hence why posts have post less-frequently lately.  Who wants to be inside blogging, when you can be outside enjoying the day????
With that being said, I'm outta here!

5 for Five and a Weekend Update

I am a day late, but for a good reason.  I was tired last night.  Isn't that good enough?  So even though it's Tuesday I am still going to set some goals...I having a feeling I did not get 5 for Five like I did last week with  Jessica @ Fantastically Average and Jenn @ Party of One

And a serious, hug thanks to Jenn for having the Goody Bag Giveaway!  The traffic to all of my social media outlets has been amazing!!!  Thanks girl!
Here are my goals from last week:
1.  Go to school one time.  Nope.  No time again.
2.  Go to two yoga classes. Y'all I am in love with Hot Yoga...You guys were right!  It's all I want to do, but I am still making myself do my regular workouts too.  It's such a good feeling to have your sweat dripping all over the floor!
3.  Begin the ever-so-long process of fixing my Cri-cut.  Let me just say, I am totally dreading this.  I think that's why I didn't do it.
4.  Organize my craft room.
5.  Blog every day.
1/5 is not so good.
Here are my goals for this week:
1.  Complete "I can" statements for grades K-5.  This is going to take a while since I have to do all the standards for all of the grades.  Good thing its going to be raining a lot this week.
2.  Work on behavior management game-board for my classroom.  More about this after it is done.
3.  Plant flowers.  I have some flowers that I bought that need to get in the ground!
4.  Do laundry.  There's so much.
5.  Cook dinner at least once.
Hopefully I will do better than 1/5.
Part of the reason why I got nothing done last week was because we had such a fun-filled weekend!
We went up to Indy on Friday and stayed the night for the Dave Matthews concert on Saturday.  Saturday we headed to the campsite and hung out there all day, where it stormed and poured.  After the storm we took our soaking wet selves and walked up to the concert.  We do this every year, and seriously, it is always so much fun!  I can't get enough.  No makeup required, day-drinking, no driving necessary, and good music.  Who wouldn't have fun!
{Friday when we went out after coming into town}

 {The campsite}

{Forgot to bring a knife to cut the we used scissors.}

{The boys are incapable of taking a normal picture}

{A little beer pong!}

{Also forgot spatula for the grill...ergo butter knife and a screw driver.  Desperate times call for desperate measures.}

{Storm's a brewin'.  This is what caused us (and all of our stuff) to be soaked all weekend. And it broke our tent.  I'm surprised we still had fun after this!}

{At the concert, after the rain.}

{The crowd.}

 Sunday we came home and slept alllll day (at least I did).  Then we went to Qdoba and had a good hangover meal.
I am still doing wet, smelly laundry.

I am laying on the couch.  My eyelids are getting oh so heavy.  I am waiting for the end of this NBA playoff game...why do these seem to go on forever?  Hasn't it been playoff time since April? Aaaand overtime.  Another 5+ minutes before I can go to bed.  So I'll just go ahead and link up with Jamie @ This Kind of Love and What I'm Loving Wednesday and Michelle @ The Vintage Apple and Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday!
I am loving that I got to see my sibs this past weekend.  There will never be a day when I am not excited when they come home!  It's never enough time!
I am loving that we hosted the perfect little cookout on Sunday with Kelly's family and my family.  Burgers, hotdogs, and lots of other yummy picnic food made for a lovely Father's Day afternoon.
I am loving that we are going to have a fun filled weekend with friends!  A fun night out followed by a fun day/night of camping and Dave Matthews!

Here we are at the campsite last year.  Can't wait for a repeat!
I am loving my pins!
Find all my pins here!
Love this little office space!

Okay is this a real thing?  I think I have it.  No, I KNOW I have it.

Love how the inside is a different color!

How I start my mornings...

Chicken Enchilada Stuffed Zucchini Boats...YUM

Love this outfit.

The Esther Williams swimsuit.  I really hope these are making a comeback!

Sweet and Spicy Grilled Chicken Wings.  Mouth.  Watering.
And I am proud to say that I made it through this post (and the rest of that game) without falling asleep.  Happy Wednesday!
