Why not lay here a little longer?

Happy Chilly Tuesday! I just can't make myself get off the couch to get ready for school yet.  I keep telling my self I will get up at 5:30.  Ok 5:45.  Noooo 5:50.  Can today be pajama day?

Caitlyn @ Enigmatic Ambiance has tagged me in her post, and now I have to answer her questions!  These kinds of posts are fun to do every once in while.

Another Weekend Recap

Hola!  Hope your Monday was snow-filled just as mine was...Another two-hour delay today!  And I found out before I had my coffee, so back to bed I went.

Our weekend was pretty uneventful.

Friday night we stayed in the entire night.  We didn't even leave for food.  I watched 5 episodes of Gossip Girl, while Kelly hung out in his man room.  It was just what the doctor ordered!

Saturday night was the same verse as the first only swap Gossip Girl for Mad Men.  I am still not really sure how I feel about that show.  I keep watching it, thinking it's interesting, but I always fall asleep before the end.  Does that mean I think it's boring?

One thing is for sure, I don't know how children of the 50's and 60's are still alive today with all the pregnant drinking and secondhand smoke.  And don't forget about the illegitimate children and picnic litter.  Mad Men is definitely not a PC show.

Sunday was another lazy.  Kelly put together my craft table!

I wasted no time in putting it to good use.  I wish I would have taken a picture before I covered it up with a sheet to paint on it, but oh well!

The first official Sprinkles and Splatters creation.  It's for a girl's birthday party that I'm doing in April.  Did I mention how excited I am about this little endeavor?  Words do not explain.

And that, in a nutshell, was my weekend.  Exciting huh?

Sometimes its good to do nothing!

Have a great week!

5 on Friday

Happy Friday!

They are actually making me work today.  We have had every kind of snow cancellation this week...Two hour delays, early dismissal, no school at all.

Have I mentioned I'm over it?

I like my summer and I want to keep it as long as possible!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

1.  We don't have anything this weekend! I am looking forward to getting re-acquainted with Apple TV, and working on the school yearbook, which I am in charge of.  And it's due in two weeks.  And I have barely started on it.

2.  The Olympics start tonight!  I am not as big of a fan of the Winter Olympics as I am the Summer Olympics, but I still like to watch!

3.  My craft table.  It's happening this weekend.  This empty room is screaming, "USE ME!"

3.  I decorated the chalkboard in the kitchen for Valentine's Day!

And I also just realized how crooked that picture is!

4.  I have officially begun working on my little painting party business, Sprinkles and Splatters!  I sketched out the logo design on Wednesday, and sent it to my dad so he can make my business cards.  Is this real life?

That's a quick and random 5 on Friday for ya!

Have a great weekend!

Pinsday Wednesday

SNOW DAY!  Again!  And hopefully this is the last one because we are now out of makeup days.  And I am definitely not wanting ANY of my summer to be taken away!  Those days are precious and should be spent be the pool.

Here are the pins I am loving this week:

I want these in my mouth!

LOVE this bag.

If this showed up on my doorstep, I wouldn't even be mad about it.

You can find all of my pins here!

Happy {Snowy} Wednesday!

Super Bowl Weekend Recap

What a busy weekend!  I feel like I was barely at home.  I need just one more day to relax I think!

Friday night we went out with some fellow teachers to a local 70's and 80's bar.  Talk about fun!  There was a Michael Jackson impersonator and plenty of fun music to dance to!

Saturday night we headed up to French Lick, Indiana to celebrate my BFF Megan's birthday.  We ate dinner at the winery, which began the binge eating.  I decided that on Super Bowl weekend you can eat whatever you want!  So I got vegetable Ravioli, with ALFREDO SAUCE.  I don't even know the last time I consumed alfredo sauce on pasta.  That is definitely not on the healthy eating plan.  And Kelly was also gracious enough to let me order the bottle of wine I wanted, which just so happened to be $26.  What a nice guy!

After dinner we headed to the casino that is attached to the hotel.  I am not much of a gambler, but I am definitely a people watcher, and a casino is a great place to do that, especially in Southern Indiana.  I bet four whole dollars on a slot machine.  I put in a $20, but I just couldn't do it anymore once it got down to $15.90.  I would just like to keep the money that I have, thanks.

I drank enough dirty Shirley's to make Shirley Temple want to be my friend.  I also ate about a whole jar of maraschino cherries.  The bar tender kept putting more and more in my drink.  Fine by me!  Why not get your daily dose of fruit while having your favorite cocktail?!

Then next morning we were feeling a little tired.  Nothing that an omelet and some waffles couldn't fix!  We had a rather hefty breakfast at the breakfast buffet in the hotel.  I am not a buffet person, but a hangover breakfast buffet is definitely something that I can get into!

We went over to my parents to watch the Super Bowl.  My mom made lots of yummy appetizers, enough for me to have a lettuce-only day today!  Unfortunately, the Broncos lost.  We here in Indiana are still Peyton Manning fans.

But my mom and I also had our first annual Super Bowl Craft Session...because you have to have something to do in between commercials, especially when your team is losing!  She helped me make a wreath for my living room.  I did the burlap, and she did the bow.  The flower placement was a combined effort.  I can't wait to hang it up!

I was a little disappointed in the commercials this year.  It seemed like all the companies tried to go serious on us with their tearjerker commercials.  I did enjoy the Oikos commercial with the Full House crew, and Mountain Dew commercial with the Dale Call.  The puppy and horse commercial was also pretty cute!

How did you celebrate the Super Bowl?

What were your favorite commercials?

And good news!  It's back to bed for this girl..2 hour delay!

5 for Friday

Happy Friday!

A few paint spills later...We made it!  I feel like this has been the longest week ever.  Probably because it's the first week since Thanksgiving that I have worked every single hour of the school day.  And now I know for sure that the kids are crazy.  Why?  I'm not sure.  Perhaps because they have not been on a normal schedule for several weeks.

I have had things happen in my room that have never happened in my room, like spilled water jars, "accidental" painted tables, and more painted shirts than I care to mention, including a winter coat that was green, but is now looking a little more red.

OOOY!

Let's have some positives shall we?!

1.  There is a carry-in lunch today at school.  The Soup-er Bowl Lunch.  I made s'mores bars which might just be the best things ever.  I can't wait to get my soup on.

2.  We are going out with some people from my school tonight!   Pizza and then a local 70's and 80's bar.  Kelly is on board with the pizza...not so much for the bar, but there is still time to convince him!

3.  Tomorrow we are going to French Lick, a nearby town that was once known for their sulfur springs with health perks.  Now there is a couple large resorts, a casino, and lots of yummy restaurants there alongside a small town, a perfect weekend getaway, and a perfect way to spend my bestie Megan's birthday weekend!

4.  Sunday is the Super Bowl, which I could really care less about, but it's a cheat day, and I like the commercials.  We are going to my parents and my mom is trying out some new appetizers on us.  Fine by me!  Go Broncos, I guess?

5.  I am starting a business!  Sprinkles and Splatters is the name!  You know those little painting parties that are popping up all over?   Remember I went to one last week? Well, I was inspired, and I am going to be having those little parties starting in May!  I have been going to these here and there, and decided that there is no reason why I can't do that!  I am an art teacher after all.  I have already booked my first birthday party for April!

I am only having one problem so far.  I want to do canvas and door hangers, you know the big painted pieces of wood that you hang on your front door?  Or on your wall perhaps.

I cannot find anywhere that sells these babies unfinished.  I have checked etsy, all I can find on there are steel cutouts, and I have googled and googled it.  I can only find small ones, like 2 inches wide small.

Now I am a crafty person, and I have used a saw before, but I am not sure that I am ready to cut these out myself.  I wanted a good stock to start out with at least!  Every party I been to with these door hangers has had a handy man husband that cuts them out for the wifey.  This girl has used more saws than her man has so that is not going to work for me.  Ha!

Anyone know of a place to get these?

I am VERY open to suggestions at this point.

HELP!

Oh and have a fab weekend!

Let's Pretend

I am drawing a blank today and cannot come up with a thing to blog about!  So I'm going to pretend like It's OK Thursday is still a thing and go with that.

It's OK if I ate one of the s'mores bars that I made for the carry-in at school on Friday.  I had to make sure they weren't poison right?

It's OK if 40 degrees feels like spring break weather.  I'm so tired of the cold.

It's OK if I get excited to go to bed because I know I get to have coffee in the morning.

It's OK if I had to load and unload the dishwasher twice last night just to combat the pile of dishes that was taking over our sink and counter area.

It's OK if I signed up to get the Sunday paper three weeks ago because I want to be a newspaper reader.

It's also OK that I have never once even opened said newspaper.

It's OK if I just finished my coffee, and I feel like it was not enough.

It's OK if I don't want to be one of those people that counts down to Friday, but I still think it in my head everyday.

Favorite Things Wednesday

Oh hey!  Remember me?  I haven't posted anything yet this week.  Monday I was too cold, and I just wasn't feeling it.  I was feeling sleeping in later and laying on the couch.  Yesterday I wanted to blog, but I woke at 6:30, which is 2.5 hours later than planned, and I thought it was Saturday, so needless to say, I was running a little behind.

But I am here today, and I am sharing my favorite things, including my favorite pins!

Kelly and I celebrated our anniversary on Saturday, even though our actual anniversary was in December.  I felt I needed a redo because we were so busy then.

Kelly surprised me with flowers!

We went to a local gastropub for dinner!  Commonwealth Kitchen and Bar is a little bit of a drive but totally worth it.  And totally worth waiting for our reservations for 30 minutes!  We ordered several small plates to share, which is right up my alley!  I can try more things that way!

The brussel sprouts were SO good.  I don't know what they do to them, but I'm pretty sure it makes them not healthy.  And we got them for free since we had to wait!

Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls with an A1 aioli.  I wish there was more of them!

My second drink was a cucumber something.  Very yummy!  My first drink was not picture worthy.  I ordered a Manhattan Jam.  It was smoked bourbon whiskey with apple butter mixed in.  I thought my love for apple butter would overcome my dislike for whiskey, but I forgot how much I dislike whiskey.  Kelly kindly finished it for me.

Parmesan Truffle Fries.  There was also Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese, but that didn't make it long enough for a picture.

The bill came inside and old book!

And then when we got home, as if we weren't full enough, we celebrated with a Gigi's cupcake!  And yes I ate the whole thing, and no I don't regret it.  Banana Toffee Pie...I die.

Ok enough about food.

My craft room is also becoming one of my favorite things.  I worked on it some this weekend...if only I had a table to put in there (p.s. I do but its still in the box, and Kelly has to out it together)!

It looks so nice and organized right?!

Ha! NOT.

There is definitely some work to do in there.  Again, if only I had a table...

Last night my flowers opened up!

SO pretty!

Now for my favorite pins of the week.

You can find all my pins here!

Cute dress!

Why did no one ever think of this?!?

Would be fun to teach with cave painting!

It's what is for dinner tonight!  Did I mention I made four meals on Sunday?  Yay for being organized.

This makes me want to get my haircut.

The truth.

On my to do list!

Yum!

Kelly would love this!

I am done now.  Sorry for the long post!

Happy Wednesday!
