Birthday Weekend

Another weekend for the books!  And a birthday weekend at that!  Spending the weekend with my family made turning 26 okay!

Kelly and I drove up to Indy on Friday.  We kept it pretty close to the belt on Friday because my brother and Whitney weren't feeling so great.  I wanted them to be ready to roll on Saturday, so we just went out to dinner, and my sister and her fiancée came over afterwards.  I got to see her ring!  AND she asked me to be her maid of honor.  More on that on a different day.

Saturday we went downtown to hopon the brew bus.  It's a bus that takes you to four local breweries.  You spend 30 minutes sampling/purchasing beer at each one then you get back on the bus and go to the next one!  It's pretty amazing.  I did it over the summer with my friend Emily, and I would do it again and again and again.  Thankfully, this time there wasn't a man wearing cones on his ears

Waiting for the bus...

On our way to the first brewery!

Our first stop was Flat 12 Bierworks.

Last time I was here they had a refreshing Cucumber Kolsch.  They didn't have that this time since it's not quite summer yet, so I got the One Sky Pale Ale, and I was happy with my choice!

We had plenty of samples!

The next place we went to was Bier Brewery.

We didn't really take too many pictures here, but they had a killer mac and cheese truck.  We had Beer Buffalo Mac and Cheese and some concoction with bacon, sour cream and chives on top.  It was the perfect thing to hold us over until dinner!

The next place we went to was Indy City Brewery.  The atmosphere at this place is really cool.  It's in an old garage/ warehouse, and they leaver the big doors open so it's kind of open air/ outside.  Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures here.

We ended the tour at Fountain Square Brewery.  They have a beer called Hop for Teacher so of course Lauren and I had to take a picture by the sign.

Then we tried to take a picture of us hopping by the sign, but we just couldn't get it. Ha

After we got off the bus we headed to Agave Bar and Grill in Carmel for dinner.  Nothing like chips and salsa after you been drinking all day!  YUM

Also nothing like a giant margarita after you've been drinking all day...

We said our goodbyes on Sunday morning and headed back to Evansville.

We decided to have a fire in the fire pit and dinner on the patio to round out the weekend.

Oh did I mention that Dierks was with us the whole weekend?  He was such a good pup!

While sitting outside by the fire, we decided to bring out the laptop to watch some episodes of The Office.

It was a great decision I have to say!

Unfortunately it's back to the real world now.

Happy Tax Day!
