Vacation Days 7 and 8

We made it home safely! It is always sad to have to go back to real life, but I don't think I could do another day of theme parks!

Thursday we went to Universal Studios to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!  I was totally geeking out because I LOVE Harry Potter.

The Hogwarts Express

The village of Hogmeade.  It was so hot.  We were wishing that was real snow!

Hogwarts.  This is where the big ride was.  We waited in line for that thing for 70 minutes, but it was worth it!

Waiting in line

The cool thing about waiting in line is that you walk through the castle and get to see all of the things from the books and movies.  This is The Mirror of Erised from the first book.

You walk through the Herbology classroom.  They had a bunch of potted Mandrakes!  Luckily they weren't screaming.

The house points.

The entrance to Dumbledore's office.

Moving pictures.

The Pensieve.

You can't see it very well (or at all) but this is the picture of the fat lady that covers the entrance to the Griffindor common room.

The Sorting Hat.

After we rode the ride, we saw the Hogwarts choir!

And stopped by a few gift shops, which were way to crowded for my liking.  All the shops are true to actual size so they don't accommodate very many people!

Ollivander's Wand Shop

I got to try Butterbeer!  You could get it frozen or just cold.  I opted for cold so I could get the true Butterbeer experience.  It was delicious!  Tasted a little bit like a rootbeer float but with a little more butterscotch-y taste.

Bye Hogwarts!

We also got to hit up Seuss Land!

Friday we went to Hollywood Studios and rode The Tower of Terror!  I kind of forgot how terrifying that thing is.

"How do you feel about this ride?"

Then we went on The Rockin' Rollercoaster, which was also a little terrifying, but I expected that.

Then of course we had to go to the gift shops and try on the hats.

Kelly just loves that part.

And now we home!  We had so much fun, but it is good to be home!

Happy Sunday!

You just made me want to re-read all the HP books! Too bad school is about to start... oh well, I think I'll do it anyway! Looks like a really fun trip!
